Any item that is 80% or more metal may either be brought to the Town Landfill during operating hours free of charge or scheduled for pick up as follows.
Curbside metal pick up for residential homes and condominium complexes is done on Tuesdays of each week. Residents must pre-pay by Monday (3 p.m.) of each week to be scheduled for a pickup.
The charge for this service is $10 for the first item and $5 for each additional item. Payments must be made either in person at the Town Highway Garage or mailed to our office.
Checks should be made out to Town of Newington Sanitation Department, please include name, address, phone number and item’s that are to be picked up.
Please note that payment must be received in order to be placed on the list. No refunds will be issued if we are not informed prior to the pick up date that the item has already been removed.
Some examples of acceptable items are refrigerators, stoves, washers and dryers, window mounted air conditioners, metal exercise equipment, lawnmowers (gas and oil removed), scrap metal.
