Acceptable Items for Curbside Collection

Appliance / Metal Items
Any item that is 80% or more metal may either be brought to the Town Landfill during operating hours free of charge or scheduled for pick up.

Clothing / Textile Recycling
Newington residents will now have the opportunity to recycle old textiles such as shirts, sweaters, jeans and sneakers as opposed to discarding them in the trash.

Electronics Recycling
Newington residents will now have a location for recycling CED'S (Covered Electronic Devices) at the Newington Transfer Station (Landfill) located on Main Street.

Paint Care
Now latex paints (interior or exterior), deck stains, and other water-based paints can be recycled instead of discarded in the trash.

Phone Book Delivery Opt Out
For residents who choose to no longer have the Yellow Pages delivered to their home you can how opt out of delivery.

Pickup Schedule
Single Stream recycling is collected every other week (blue container), the same day as your regular garbage collection (green container).

Prescription Medication Disposal
The Newington Police Department now has a Medication Collection and Disposal Drop Box located in the lobby of the police department.
