Electronics Recycling

Beginning January 1, 2011 Newington residents will now have a location for recycling CED’S (Covered Electronic Devices) at the Newington Transfer Station (Landfill) located on Main Street. CED’S are defined as desktop computers, laptop computers, computer monitors, printers and televisions.

Recently enacted electronic waste laws require the manufacturers of these products to provide funding for recycling programs. In addition to reducing municipal solid waste tipping fees for Newington taxpayers, this new law will prevent covered electronic devices from ending up in a landfill or resource recovery facility.
