There are a number of effective means of giving to the Lucy Robbins Welles Library, all of which will assist the Board of Trustees to improve the Library. Each year thousands of residents directly benefit from charitable contributions made by patrons and friends of the Lucy Robbins Welles Library. Give to the Lucy Robbins Welles Library and your gift will inspire the Newington community for many years to come.
The Legacy Society is an association of Library patrons and friends who have made donations and/or future provisions for the Lucy Robbins Welles Library in their estate regardless of value.
Membership with the Friends, shopping at the book sales, the ongoing book sale and Friends Corner and attending Friends' sponsored fundraisers are different ways you can support the library/
Becoming Friend of the Library is another way to support the library. Money collected through membership is used to fund library programming and supplement the library's collection. Membership also includes annual benefits and a subscription the library newsletter.
The Newington Library 5K Challenge road is an annual fundraiser of the Library Board of Trustees held on the third Sunday in May at Mill Pond Park.
Local dining establishments have an opportunity to support the library and receive year-round recognition by participating in the Library's Dining Partner Program. Dining Partner Tickets are distributed to current members of the Friends of the Lucy Robbins Welles Library and upon request.. This is a win-win opportunity to showcase participating restaurants in the Dining Partner Ticket and help the Library offset expenses for its ambitious year-round programming schedule.
