The Library administrative staff and the Fund Development Committee assist donors and their advisors with integrating charitable gifts into their financial, tax and estate planning objectives, maximizing benefits to both donors and the Lucy Robbins Welles Library.
Planned gifts can provide donors with an immediate tax deduction and other benefits such as life income, continued use of gift property or elimination of capital gains tax. Patrons and friends that arrange these types of gifts are eligible for membership in the Legacy Society.
A planned gift can be in the form of cash, securities, real estate or other property. The Fund Development Committee can help you with everything from simple bequests to gifts of retirement plan assets, real property, appreciated securities, and charitable life income gifts, such as charitable remainder trusts, and charitable gift annuities. We are ready to help you answer questions of any kind regarding bequests or other deferred gifts, their tax consequences and their use at the Library.
The purpose of the Gift Acceptance Policies is to give guidance and counsel to those individuals within The Lucy Robbins Welles Library (LRWL) concerned with the planning, promotion, solicitation, receipt, acceptance, management, reporting, use, and disposition of private sector gifts. Please see the Summary of the the Lucy Robbins Welles Library Gift Acceptance Policy for full details.
