About Hoopla Digital 

We are reaching out to you about our Hoopla service. Due to increasing usage and budget constraints, the library has had to make some difficult decisions regarding Hoopla. We have lowered your monthly borrows to 6 per month, and you may notice a shift in the available titles in our Hoopla collection. We apologize for any inconvenience and encourage you to reach out to us if you are seeking a specific title that appears unavailable. We recommend that you check out Hoopla’s BingePasses. This format offers many different options for binge streaming or reading, including Hallmark movies, magazines as well as Children’s content for only one borrow.

Hoopla Digital

Access thousands of movies, television shows, music albums, audiobooks, eBooks and comics, all available for mobile and online access through Hoopla Digital. All you need is a Newington Public Library card. 

Visit the Hoopla Digital website from your PC or download the free hoopla digital mobile app to your Android or IOS device and begin enjoying thousands of titles from major Hollywood studios, record companies and publishers. All titles are available to borrow for instant streaming on your computer, or temporary downloading to smartphones and tablets. There is no waiting to borrow titles, and there are no late fees! Newington patrons may borrow up to 6 titles per month.

Also available are Hoopla BingePasses. These include courses, movies, music, workouts, puzzles, and more. Available for 7 days of streaming. Checking out a BingePass counts as 1 borrow.

Thousands of eBooks. No waiting! This service allows up to 3-book checkouts per week.

Freading is an eBook service where Newington library cardholders can download eBooks for free. Freading holds thousands of eBooks and is always adding more to the collection, such as the addition of travel books published by Lonely Planet. This is a unique eBook service that differs from others in that eBooks are available to users simultaneously, without waiting in line.

This collection offers full-text titles with unlimited access designed specifically for public libraries.  Featuring fiction and nonfiction titles for adults, teens and children, as well as containing a wide range of subjects and topics to meet patron’s research and recreational needs.
