  • The Town actually carries two credit ratings: one from Moody’s Investors Service is Aa2 and the other from Standard and Poor’s which is AA+. The Town's credit rating was upgraded in 2010 by Moody's Investor Services during a global re-calibration of ratings. The Town's credit rating was last upgraded in 2014 by Standard and Poor's Ratings Services based on the implementation of its local General Obligation criteria.   • As of June 30, 2024, the Town will have $28,435,000 in bonds outstanding. The Town issued $9 million of bonds in May 2019 and $15 million of bonds in May 2020 for the Town Hall/Community Center. Its last bond sale was in May 2023, in the amount of $10 million to fund the renovate as new project at the Anna Reynolds School.  

    The Town made principal payments during the 2023-24 fiscal year totaling $2,335 million. The Town had bonds authorized but unissued in the amount of $9.4 million as of June 30, 2024.

Of this amount $3.8 million is for payment in lieu of taxes for exempt facilities in the Town. The largest grant is from the Educational Cost Sharing (ECS) grant which totals $16.7 million.
