No. With single stream recycling you will no longer need to bag or bundle paper and cardboard, or separate plastic and glass, simply place all your acceptable recyclables into your container and wheel it to the curb. Please remember to rinse glass and plastic containers prior to placing them in the container. Also, remember that items not placed in the recycling container will not be collected. Residents may obtain Transfer Station permits at the Town Highway Garage (281 Milk Lane) Monday, Wednesday & Thursday 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Tuesday 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Friday 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. or at the Town Hall in the Town Clerk’s office Monday, Wednesday & Thursday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Tuesday, 8:30 am to 6:00 pm & Friday, 8:30 to noon. License and registration of residents’ vehicle are required to obtain a sticker. Permit Application Form

Bulk collection is done every Thursday and residents are asked to contact Trash Away (860)-229-1164 to schedule a pick up. Each residence is allowed two non-metal items per week and must contact the hauler prior to 1:00 on Wednesday to schedule a pick up. The town is allowed a maximum of 165 stops per week therefore scheduling is done on a first come first serve basis. -

Scrap metal collection is done every Tuesday and residents are asked to contact Trash Away (860)-229-1164 to schedule a pick up. The deadline for scheduling a scrap metal pick up is 1:00 on Monday. The fee for the first item is $15.00 and $5.00 for each additional item. Residents may also bring the scrap metal to the Town Landfill during operating hours. -

Fluorescent and CFL bulbs may be recycled as part of the Town's Ewaste program at the Town's Landfill during operating hours. Incandescent bulbs are not recyclable and my be disposed of in your green trash container. -
