Front Office:

The Newington Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented individual for the front office. Duties will include, but not be limited to, answering the phone, registering participants for programs using RecTrac software, writing press releases, coordinating program finances, proofreading, letter writing and more. Preferred days and times are Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 2 PM and not to exceed 15 hours per week. Schedule is flexible. Compensation is $12.50 per hour. Anyone interested in the position can submit a Town of Newington application along with a resume to the Parks and Recreation Department.

Parks and Recreation (Seasonal)

The Newington Parks and Recreation Department is currently hiring Summer staff; including Camp Counselors, Lifeguards and Concession Attendants. Interested candidates should fill out a Town of Newington application,which is available at www.newingtonct.gov or at the Parks and Recreation office, and submit it to the Parks and Recreation Office. Compensation is $10.10 - $15.00 per hour, depending on position. The deadline for applications is March 30th. Parks and Grounds (Seasonal)

The Newington Parks and Recreation Department is recruiting seasonal park staff for spring and summer employment. All applicants should be at least 18 years of age with a valid Connecticut driver’s license. They will be required to perform a variety of tasks which may include the use of hand tools, power equipment, such as string trimmers, leaf blowers and mowers, picking up litter and assisting in athletic field maintenance. The hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The salary range is from $10.25 to $15.00 per hour.

The Newington Parks and Recreation Department is also recruiting for part-time groundskeepers to work 19 hours per week from April to October as a cemetery worker or gardener. This position works Monday through Friday with flexible hours. The salary range is from $10.10 to $11.25 per hour.
