The Highway Department would like to remind resident's of a few items that would assist plow driver's in the process of clearing roads and keeping Newington's snow removal operations functioning as efficiently as possible
- Shoveling, plowing, or blowing snow into the road is not permitted, per Town Ordinance 367-23.
- Property owners or occupants are responsible for clearing sidewalks adjacent to their property of snow and ice within twelve (12) hours after precipitation has ended, per Town Ordinance 15-24(b).
- Winter parking ban is in effect from November 1st thru March 30th. Parking is not allowed on streets for more than 30 minutes between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.
- Permanent or portable basketball hoop systems within the Town’s right-of-way are illegal and should be removed from the edge of road.
- Sand is available to Newington residents in small amounts and may be picked up at the Highway Department, 281 Milk Lane
