The Town of Newington has extended the normal grace-period from 30 days to 90 days due to the COVID-19 Virus for Real Estate, Personal Property, and Motor Vehicle taxes for taxpayers with the last day to pay without penalty being October 1, 2020. On October 2nd, interest will be restored at the regular rate of 1.5% per month and is calculated based on the July 1st due date.

The Real Estate for Landlords, Banks, Escrow Companies and Mortgage Holders are delinquent after August 3rd - interest will be charged.

For everyone’s safety, the Town Hall is closed to the public.  For your convenience, a tax payment drop box has been installed in the rear parking lot in an island across from the Police Department.  Please include a self-addressed stamped-envelope when paying if you would like a receipt.  Tax Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.  Staff is available by phone and appointment at (860 ) 665-8540.  Anyone needing a correction to a bill contact the Assessor’s Office at (860) 665-8530 or fax (860) 665-8531.
