Call 860-665-8590 to schedule Food Bank pick-up or delivery appointments . Pick-up appointments will be given for Tuesday afternoons from 12 to 3 pm and on Thursday mornings from 9 am to 12 noon. Recipients can also pick up food on either the 2nd or 4th Monday afternoon of each month from 4 pm to 6:30 pm. If you have school age children and are enrolled in the Weekend Backpack program, you will be given that assistance once a month along with your pre-packed food from the foodbank. That food is being packaged in grocery bags due to sanitation issues required as a result of covid-19. You will be given a half hour window in which to pick up your food. When you arrive at the town hall , please park in the back of the Town Hall near the flag pole and call 860-665-8590 to let us know that you are here for food pick up. A selection of food: including meat, bakery, and pantry food will be brought out to your car. We recognize that this does not allow for the food choice that we have historically provided. We believe that these measures are necessary and temporary and are instituted at the universal recommendation for increased social distancing. If you receive food that you can not use either due to food choice preference or dietary restrictions please feel free to donate that back to us. If you identify as someone in a vulnerable population : over 60 and or with a chronic illness or transportation issues and are self-isolating as recommended- please request a delivery of your pre-packed food to your home.
If you are not currently registered for the food bank but feel that you might benefit from this assistance- please call 860-665-8590 to schedule an appoint to apply for this program via phone. We will request that certain documentation be mailed, emailed or texted to us.
