PROJECT LIFESAVER

Many people and businesses have asked how they can get involved in police department programs and make a difference in their community. Here is our latest initiative, Project Lifesaver.

Caring for a loved one who suffers from a cognitive condition is an extremely stressful situation. If that condition is one that makes the individual disoriented and prone to wander, it elevates a stressful situation to potentially dangerous. Project Lifesaver International is an organization whose primary mission is to locate and rescue missing persons as quickly as possible.

The Newington Police Department has committed to purchasing the necessary equipment and training, but is in the need of businesses and individuals to sponsor a bracelet(s) for parties with cognitive conditions. These bracelets emit a tracking signal and with the combined use of our tracking system equipment and trained officers to search, we anticipate being within the average recovery time of 30 minutes.

Please help us in supporting this worthwhile initiative.

Feel free to direct questions to Officer Jamie DeSimone, jdesimone@newingtonct.gov.
