Winter Gardening:  Grow Your Own Lettuce & Herbs at the Center - Thursday, January 16 at 11:00 a.m.  Newington Senior & Disabled Center. Participants in this free winter gardening program will receive all the materials needed to grow lettuce and herb plants over the winter.  Each participant will receive seeds, soil and potting materials and will tend to their plants throughout the winter as they grow under the indoor gardening lights located in the Arts and Crafts Room.  Giving Garden volunteers will be on hand to assist participants during the January 16 program kickoff; then each participant will be responsible for continuing to water and tend to the plants until they are ready to harvest and take home to enjoy!  Space is limited.  Please register in the office or call 860-665-8778.
