[ARCHIVED] SNAP Benefits have been reinstated: Possible Ongoing Resources

Two hands reaching out

Reportedly 2760 individuals in Newington were impacted by delay in SNAP benefits distributed in November  2025. Benefits have been added back to SNAP cards. If you were on SNAP & do not see this on your card please contact DSS or our department for assistance in resolving this issue.  The Newington Human Services Department has received numerous donations through the generosity of this community. If you were negatively impacted by this pause in SNAP benefits please contact Newington Human Services at 860-665-8590 to schedule a brief appointment to be screened for possible assistance. You may also reach out via this link https://www.newingtonct.gov/FormCenter/Contact-Us-4/Contact-UsHuman-Services-65 . All assistance is funded by donations and we will strive to reduce the negative impact for as many households as possible while donations are available. Newington is a very generous and responsive community and we are hopeful that we can assist as many households as possible.

If you are age 60+ and negatively impacted by the pause in SNAP benefits, there may be additional nutrition options available through the Senior & Disabled Center. 860-665-8778
