The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct an in-person public information meeting concerning a sidewalk installation on Route 175 in Newington, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Newington Town Hall at 200 Garfield Street in Newington. “The purpose of this project is to construct sidewalks along Cedar Street to improve pedestrian accommodations and a continuous network between transit, retail, and educational facilities,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Devin Racicot. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design.”

Right-of-way impacts are anticipated through permanent easements for the construction of the sidewalk.

Construction is anticipated to begin spring 2026. The estimated cost for this project is approximately $2.6 million with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
