Newington Senior Center Staff and Community
This is to inform you that starting on July 15, 2024 through August 15, 2024 from 7 A.M. to 3 P.M, on Mondays and Tuesdays, the removal of asbestos containing material is scheduled to occur at the Newington Senior Center (weather permitting) The asbestos abatement will include the removal of asbestos-containing caulk from around clerestory windows at the site. The removal of the caulk will be performed to support the replacement of the existing windows. Please note that in accordance with applicable Federal and State regulations, during removal activities the work areas will be completely isolated from the occupied portion of the building. The work will be performed following an Alternative Work Practice approved by the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health; performed by a State of Connecticut licensed asbestos abatement contractor, GE Construction LLC (CT License No. 000775), and monitored by the Town’s Environmental Consultant, Eagle Environmental, Inc.
