The Town of Newington’s Sanitation Department would like to remind residents of a few items to keep the town’s recycling program running efficiently, effectively and ensuring the collection of our resident's containers. By following the guidelines and recycling properly our residents help keep disposal costs down.
Grass, leaves and vegetation are not allowed in the trash or recycling container. If these items are found in either container they will be not emptied and left at the curb. For more information on how to properly dispose of grass, leaves or vegetation please click on the link Transfer Station
Also as a reminder plastic bags of any kind are not allowed in your recycling container. Plastic bags may be reused, recycled or placed in the trash. To find a location for proper recycling of plastic bags please visit How2Recycle .
