Love Affair (1939) starring Irene Dunne & Charles Boyer. What does Hollywood do when they make a successful film? Remake it again and again. CCSU professor Gil Gigliotti will take a look at 1939’s Love Affair and 2 remakes. Each time, two people engaged to others, meet, fall passionately in love, break it off, and reunite on top of the Empire State Building. Popcorn and soft drinks will be served.

We Were There: Writing Our Military Experiences Friday, November 8, 2:00 p.m.
The Russell Library Veterans' Writing Group has been meeting and writing stories of their incredible wartime experiences for over six years. A collection of their stories will be published by En Route Publishing in 2020. Join group members for a panel discussion, a short film, and a preview of their fascinating book of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam stories. The group is led by author and Old Saybrook native Elisabeth Petry, and facilitated by Russell Library’s Christy Billings.
