We continue to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Lucy Robbins Welles Library with the 3rd cultural event of the 80th Anniversary Celebration Series featuring the R & B Soul music of Grayson Hugh.
Funded by the Lucy Robbins Welles Library Legacy Society and the George G. Hanel Fine Arts Series.
Presenting the internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter, pianist and blue-eyed soul legend, Grayson Hugh, along with his wife, singer Polly Messer. Hugh’s piano playing has been called “a veritable cyclone of soul” and his voice has been compared to Sam Cooke and Otis Redding. Don’t miss the chance to see this talented duo up close and personal, performing songs from his albums, Blind to Reason, Road to Freedom, An American Record and his 2015 Grammy-nominated Back to Soul as well as his hits from radio and Oscar-winning films Thelma and Louise and Fried Green Tomatoes.

The Friends of the Library will hold their spring book sale on Friday, April 26, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, April 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 28 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Senior and Disabled Center. Admission on Friday evening is $5 and free on Saturday. Buy a Friends book sale GREEN bag for $7 and fill it with books for free. Refills are $6. Stock up and save!
