Hour of Code Showcase
Friday, December 1, 6:30 p.m.
All ages! Join us for a special after-hours event at the library in conjunction with Newington Public Schools. To kick-off Hour of Code Week, take a look at fun and innovative technology along with special projects from Newington students. Come Ready to watch, play and be amazed! You are welcome to bring your own laptop or tablet. Sponsored by Newington Public Schools

Teen Winter Craft Night
Thursday, December 7, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
For grades 6-12. DIY some gifts for the holiday season! We’ll watch a seasonal movie and sip cocoa. Registration required. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
                    

Teen Soapmaking
Tuesday, December 12, 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.
For grades 6 – 12. Create unique soaps (and more!) featuring seasonal scents with Sue Raybine, of Blue Marble Beading. Registration required. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.  

Newington High School Book Club 
Thursday, December 21, 2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Newington High School Library Center
For grades 9-12. Discover great books!  We will be discussing 2018 Nutmeg Nominee Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy. This is a collaboration between the NHS Library and the LRW Library. All NHS students are welcome!

Snapology Saturdays
Saturday, December 23, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Join us and create with LEGO® bricks, motors, gears and more. Try making your own robot! This event is open to all patrons age 3 through High School. This is a drop in program. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Sportstacking Workshop
Tuesday, December 27, 11:30 a.m.
Learn about sport stacking! Glenn Costello will be here to instruct you on basic skills and then you can try it for yourself. Competition level SpeedStacks® gear will be available for purchase after the program.  Registration required. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
