As you may have noticed, the Town and the Library have moved to a new and improved web site.  We hope that you like them!  You will now receive email news through this service, rather than through Constant Contact.

Get Custom E-Mail Notifications


If you want to change or add email notifications to receive library information, click on the image  Get Connected, then select Notify Me.  You can sign up to receive monthly news and events emails for: all ages, adults, teens, and/or children's.  You can also sign up for events  calendar notifications for each of the categories. You may sign up for email notices regarding library board meeting agendas and minutes, library building/renovation agendas and minutes and many more town-related news items.  Once you sign up, you will receive an email from listserv@civicplus.com asking you click to  to confirm your subscription. You must click on the link to be added to email notifications that you have selected.  If you have any questions, contact Diane Durette at 860-665-8700 or ddurette@newingtonct.gov.

Snapology Saturdays New

Saturday, October 7, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.


Join us for Open Creative Play with LEGO® bricks, motors, gears and other fun and challenging building components. Learn new techniques, explore technologies, and share in the love of building, creating, and 'Learning through Play'. This event is open to all patrons age 3 through high school! This is a drop in program.

Family Game Time

Saturday, October 14, 1:30 – 3:00 p.m.


Newington’s Your Friendly Neighborhood Tabletop Shop will be here to teach us some fabulous tabletop games!  Families are invited to participate in games that involve creative thinking and cooperative team planning. There will be different games on hand for different age levels, including ages 6 through teen.

Peter Leppones from Apella Capitol will talk about the ins and outs of financing an education.  Come with questions!  Registration required.

Teen Horror Movie Night

Monday, October 30, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.


For ages 13-18. After-hours scary movie night for teens! Come hang with your friends & eat some treats. Movie to be determined by a vote. Feel free to bring bean bag chairs, pillows or blankets. All movies are rated PG-13. Registration required.
