You can sign up to receive monthly news and events emails for: all ages, adults, teens, and/or children's. You can also sign up for events calendar notifications for each of the categories. You may sign up for email notices regarding library board meeting agendas and minutes, library building/renovation agendas and minutes and many more town-related news items. Newington Reads! One Book ~ One Town Heat and Light Join us for a community-wide reading event that will feature the novel Heat and Light by Jennifer Haigh. A best book of 2016 by the NYT, NPR and Washington Post, that explores the fallout of the natural gas boom in a small Pennsylvania town. Book discussions and related programming are scheduled for September and October. Multiple copies in different formats are available to checkout at the library. Paperback copies are available for purchase as well. The reading event will conclude with an appearance and book signing from author Jennifer Haigh on October 24 2017. The goal of Newington READS is to promote literacy through a common experience of reading and talking together about the same book.
