Adult Winter Reading Registration Day Thursday, February 4
Adult Winter Reading registration will begin on Thursday, February 4. Registration will be online, by phone or with a printed form (upon request). Register on this day for a chance to win the kickoff prize giveaway basket. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
Adult Winter Reading Program Dates Thursday, February 4 - Friday March 12
Register yourself online, by phone or with a print form (upon request). Read or listen to the library books of your choice at your own pace and receive one prize ticket for each book completed. Tickets will be available online or you can call to have one submitted. Weekly drawings will be held on Fridays. All weekly entries will be entered into the grand prize drawings which will be held on Friday, March 12. Winners will be notified. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Thursday Page Turners Book Discussion – Virtual Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles Thursday, February 4, 7:00 p.m.
Join us for this lively book discussion. The discussion will be held through Zoom and be facilitated by a library staff member. Anyone interested is invited to attend. We hope to “see” you there! Movie Talk with Gil Gigliotti Exploring the Evolution of Dracula – Virtual Wednesday, February 10, 2021, 7:00 p.m.
Pop some popcorn and join movie buff and CCSU professor Gil Gigliotti for our second Movie Talk. Set up like a book discussion on Zoom, we will be discussing two Dracula films, 1931 starring Bela Lugosi and 1979 starring Frank Langella. Copies of both movies will be available for advance viewing, check out, and curbside pick-up at the library, and to pick up a Grab & Go movie goody bag. Culinary Delights with Chef Rob Scott - Virtual Saturday, February 20, 3:00 p.m.
Join us for a two-part series with Simply Creative Chef Rob Scott, a head chef in the Hamptons for 20 years as well as a personal chef. He has worked with many chefs in Italy, Greece, Turkey and Hungary. You may watch him at work or try your hand at his culinary delights. Menu will feature parmesan-crusted quesadilla with mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil; panko chicken Milanese with blistered tomatoes; and a sweet ending with a batch of ultimate chocolate chip oatmeal cookies.
For Facebook account holders, you will be prompted to sign into your account to view the program. For individuals without Facebook accounts, when prompted to sign in, scroll down the page and click on the "Not Now" button to view the program. The link will be posted at the time of the program. Pet Savvy Citizens - Virtual with the Connecticut Humane Society Monday, February 22, 6:30 p.m.
Do you have a pet in your life? Or are you looking for ways interact with pets in the community? During this interactive program you will learn all about the benefits of pet ownership and interaction, how to get involved with pets and the important components of pet safety. This program is specifically designed for adults and senior citizens. Registration is required if you want to attend the live event. A Zoom link will be sent to you prior to the program. If you are unable to attend the live event, this program will be recorded and will be available for viewing after February 24.
