Snow and Fire Hydrants

hydrantInSnow

To ensure public safety, the Town of Newington is asking that any person who owns property (or any person who is residing in a residence) which abuts or is adjacent to a fire hydrant, to please be a good neighbor and remove snow accumulation away from the fire hydrant. While many people may think that this is the responsibility of the Newington Volunteer Fire Department—it is not a task that they perform.

Visibility can be challenging during the winter months. Should an emergency situation arise, it is very important that fire hydrants are clearly noticeable.
