The Town of Newington, along with the State of Connecticut as a whole, has experienced an increase in the number of positive cases of COVID-19 over the past several weeks. Director of Health Charles Brown, MPH from the Central Connecticut Health District (CCHD) expects these numbers to continue to grow in the weeks and months ahead.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Town officials have been in constant contact with State, Regional, and Local partners and health officials in order to ensure the health and safety of all Newington residents. Given the growing number of positive cases in our community, we are urging all residents to take an active role in helping us mitigate the spread of this virus.

It is imperative that Newington residents adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Residents are encouraged to eliminate all unnecessary travel and social gatherings
  • Residents should also adhere to the three W rule:

Wear your mask
Wash your hands
Watch your distance between individuals

  • Health professionals further recommend the supplementation of Vitamin C, Vitamin D and Zinc to your daily routine to help fight off infection
