JULY TAXES ARE AVAILABLE online Tuesday, June 30th and the actual tax bills will be mailed at the end of June. All persons liable to pay taxes in the Town of Newington are hereby notified the Newington Revenue Collector has a Rate Bill and Tax Warrant to collect a tax of Thirty-Nine Point Two Eight (39.28) mills on Real Estate, Personal Property and Motor Vehicle taxes with 1st installment due and payable on July 1, 2020.
Such taxes having been laid on the assessment list of October 1, 2019 shall become delinquent if not paid on or before October 1, 2020 (per Governor Lamont Executive Orders 7S & 7W with the exception of landlords, banks, and mortgage companies). Interest will be charged on October 2nd and accrues at a rate of 1.5% per month, back to the original due date of July 1, 2020. Failure to receive a bill does not invalidate the tax or interest. Tax Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Staff is available by phone.
Stay safe while paying by mail, on-line or use the drop box in the parking lot by the Police Department.
If you did not receive a tax bill please go to www.newingtonct.gov (On-Line Services) Tax Payment information where you can look up and/or pay your taxes. If you received a tax bill in error, contact the Tax Office at 860-665-8540. If you received the tax bill and your mortgage company should pay, please forward the tax bill along to them.
