[ARCHIVED] 2020 Revaluation

2020 Revaluation

Work on the 2020 Revaluation is continuing despite the hardships incurred by the COVID-19 virus.

Beginning in May, individual residential property questionnaires called Data Mailers, which list all pertinent characteristics of the property will be mailed out by the revaluation company, eQuality Valuation Services LLC, who is again assisting the Town Assessor in the completion of the revaluation.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CURRENT ROUND OF DATA MAILERS WERE ONLY MAILED TO PROPERTY OWNERS THAT FAILED TO RESPOND AND RETURN THEM FROM THE LAST REVALUATION IN 2015.

If you didn’t receive one please don’t be concerned as it indicates that we do already have verified information on file from the last revaluation back in 2015.

The use of these Data Mailers will eliminate the need for an extremely expensive and labor-intensive door to door canvass by out of town revaluation personnel which now would have been made more complicated by the COVID-19 virus. In addition to promoting public health and safety, the Data Mailers are an attempt to instill public confidence in the process by getting the public involved with the data accuracy phase of the project.

Please review your property information indicated on the Data Mailer and if necessary, make any corrections by drawing a line through that item and either print or circle the correct information.  Sign and date where indicated and return the form in the provided envelope, with or without corrections, within 5 business days.

If needed, you may request a phone call from the Revaluation Company in regards to any questions you have on this form.

You may still request an interior inspection by completing and returning the form. You will be contacted for an appointment when the restrictions due to COVID-19 are lifted.

Any questions regarding this news release should be directed to the Town Assessor at (860) 665-8535 or skosofsky@newingtonct.gov.
