The Finance Department provides services including, but not limited to the following. 

Accounting & Administration

  • Accounts for all Town funds
  • Revenue and Cash Management
  • Debt Management
  • Payroll & Accounts Payable functions
  • Involved in Employee Benefits Program
  • Assists with the development and administration of Town budget


  • Determines the value of all taxable and tax exempt Real Property, Personal Property and Motor Vehicles
  • Updates special assessments and exemptions for Newington taxpayers who are elderly, blind, or veterans

Revenue Collector

  • Collects, processes and deposits property taxes in accordance with Connecticut General Statutes
  • Central depository of revenue for all other Town departments
  • Enforces payment of delinquent taxes
