Services
The Finance Department provides services including, but not limited to the following.
Accounting & Administration
- Accounts for all Town funds
- Revenue and Cash Management
- Debt Management
- Payroll & Accounts Payable functions
- Involved in Employee Benefits Program
- Assists with the development and administration of Town budget
Assessor
- Determines the value of all taxable and tax exempt Real Property, Personal Property and Motor Vehicles
- Updates special assessments and exemptions for Newington taxpayers who are elderly, blind, or veterans
Revenue Collector
- Collects, processes and deposits property taxes in accordance with Connecticut General Statutes
- Central depository of revenue for all other Town departments
- Enforces payment of delinquent taxes
