Revamping the Teen-Parent Relationship,
One Eye-Opener At A Time 

Tuesday, June 13, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

 Frustrated because your parents just don’t get you? Mystified by the mood swings in your teen? The way we deal with relationships influences how we make friends, perform at school/work, and feel about ourselves. Finish the school year strong with Deborah Ann Davis, author and educator.

  
 

Teen Volunteer Meeting
Thursday, June 15, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

 Drop in to sign up for upcoming library volunteer opportunities for the summer. Earn community service hours or just volunteer for the fun of it! For more information email Bailey at bfrancis@newingtonct.gov or call 860-665-8700. 

 
 

 All Ages Summer Reading Kick-Off
Saturday, June 17, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

 We will have face painting, summer reading sign-ups, and more.  Teens who bring one nonperishable food item to the kickoff will be able to enter a drawing for a $25 Visa gift card. The teen summer reading program is not available online this year – teens must register in person at the library throughout the summer. 

 
 

Teen Kindness Rocks project
Wednesday, June 21, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

We’re promoting random acts of kindness by painting inspirational rocks to put in the Library’s Butterfly Garden. This is an opportunity to spread some cheer to those that find them! Earn volunteer credit for helping us with our goal. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

 
 

 Fairy Houses
Saturday, June 24, 10:30 – 11:30 am.

 Join us as we create whimsical fantastic fairy houses! Take your creation home or add it to the Library's Butterfly Garden. Please call to register builders of all ages. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

 
 

Harry Turns 20!
Tuesday, June 27, 1:30 – 3:00 p.m.

Celebrate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter! We will be making Harry Potter themed snacks including frozen butter beer, and more. Registration required. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

 
 

Build a Better Pizza
Wednesday, June 28, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Colleen Bell will be here to help us make our own pizzas. Teens will also leave with dough to make another pizza at home! Registration required. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

 
 

Teen Soapmaking
Thursday, June 29, 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. 

Create unique soaps with Sue Raybine, of Blue Marble Beading, using molds, colors, and small items for decoration. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
