Downloadable Audiobook Station

Audiobook Download Station

Downloading audiobooks is fast and easy with our new self service audiobook download station. Just bring your iPod or MP3 player to the library, browse for an audiobook, check it out with your library card, connect your device to the download station with a USB cord supplied by the library (see photo below), then an easy to use wizard will step you through the process of downloading the book directly to your device. This service is compatible with most MP3 and iPod devices.

If you have any questions just ask a librarian!

Tips for iPod users
Apple devices must be Windows formatted (you use a Windows computer to sync your computer at home.) Unfortunately, if you use a Mac to sync your computer at home, you cannot use this download station in the library, but you can download audio books from home.

You must enable the “Manually Manage Music” setting from your home computer before you come to the library. To do this:

  • Connect Apple device to your home computer
  • Open iTunes then click the device link on the left hand sidebar
  • Check the ‘manually manage music’ box
  • Click the Apply button

The audiobook will remain on your iPod until you uncheck the 'manually manage music' box or manually delete the audiobook.
