The Newington Department of Human Services was established in 1955 to assist residents with social, emotional and economic support.  In an effort to meet the changing needs of Newington, the Department coordinates and provides a wide variety of programs that serve children, youth, families, adults, persons with disabilities and the elderly.  We hope that you will easily find the information you seek.

Youth Service Bureau: Mandated by Connecticut General Statute 10-19m we are the lead local agency for community planning, coordination and evaluation of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention and treatment services for at-risk youth and provision of opportunities for all youth to develop positively and function as responsible members of our community.
