What is required to do blasting?

Blasting permits are issued by the Fire Marshal and have to be renewed every 30 days.  Please call the office with any comments of blasting concerns.

How can I file a blasting complaint?

Blasting complaints can be filed either by calling 860-667-5910, in writing, or by accessing the "Towns Service Center" located on the main page of the Town of Newington's Web site.

Can I burn leaves or brush?

Open burning of brush on residential properties is prohibited by Town Ordinance Section 7-2.

Do I need a permit to remove an underground fuel tank?

Underground fuel storage tank removals do not require a permit.  As a courtesy, an inspector will witness the removal and document the tank and soil conditions.  Reports of many removals are on file in our office and are available for public viewing.
