The Town of Newington has contracted with eQuality Valuation Services, llc of Waterbury, Connecticut to assist the Assessor with the October 1, 2015 revaluation as mandated by Connecticut state law. This revaluation will be finalized by the end of January 2016. Tax bills using the new revaluation values will be mailed in July 2016.
Pursuant to CT state law this revaluation does not require a physical inspection of each property. eQuality has begun sending out data mailers to property owners to verify the physical components of all property in Newington. This process will continue through May. eQuality personnel will be doing a drive by review to check the information in our database and this will be ongoing through the spring. These representatives may take a photo of your house if the one in our database is no longer accurate. Owners of commercial property will receive income and expense forms during April and are required to return those by June 1st. Additionally eQuality has begun the conversion of assessor records from Vision to eQuality software.
Notices of assessment increase will be sent out by the end of November. Informal hearings with the company will be set up at the end of November and December for property owners to discuss their new values.
